Author Guidelines

1. FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS

General requirements for an electronic article:

  • an electronic article is submitted on the USB flash drive or CD-ROM, or via e-mail in care of the official address of the edition;
  • an electronic version of the article is executed in the Microsoft Word editor, and the file should be saved as * .rtf, * .doc, *.docx document, the MSWord (doc, docx) format is appropriate for the text;
  • A4 page size;
  • size of the margins should be 20 mm for left; 20 mm for right; 20 mm for top; 20 mm for bottom;
  • Times New Roman font, font size should be 14 pt and 12, 11 pt for tables;
  • line spacing of the article should be 1,5 for a content and 1,0 for tables, abstracts, summaries, references;
  • first-line indent - 1,25;
  • header and footer size - 10 mm;
  • figures designed by means of software packages of mathematical and statistical processing should be converted into the graphic formats as ЕPS and ТІFF or qualitatively grouped in the MS Word environment;
  • an article should not contain excess characters; automatic and manual hyphenate are forbidden; control widow and orphan lines should be kept; first-line indent should not be inserted using tabs or multiple spaces;
  • in-text source references, formulas, tables, figures, graphs, images should be designed in accordance with the requirements;
  • attention! a mandatory requirement is a reference to articles in previous issues of our edition;
  • in-text source references should be indicated by a serial number according to the list of references and put in brackets (if an information and materials are adapted from monographs, review articles, and other sources with a large number of pages, then a number should be specified for the page, illustration, table, formula from the source of the reference).

2. CONTENT REQUIREMENTS FOR AN ARTICLE

A paper submitted for publication should include:

  • UDC index (determined by the author) in the upper left corner of the front page;
  • the first, last name and patronymic of the author of the article spaced in the upper right corner; academic degree, rank, position, institution (complete form, no abbreviations, in three languages as Ukrainian, Russian and English), compulsory ORCID iD;
  • a title of the article (in three languages: Ukrainian, Russian and English) in capital letters in a bold type in the middle;
  • a text of the article: full justification; prohibited automatic hyphenate; page numbering is not carried out; the formulas should only be represented by virtue of the formula internal editor in Microsoft Word for Windows; the volume of the scientific article is allowed from 8 to 10 full pages and more for postgraduates and authors without an academic degree, and from 12 to 20 pages – for authors possessing a scientific degree; the text of the article could be in Ukrainian, Russian, English and in the language of the author;
  • abstract of the paper (governed by the requirements of the bibliographic database of Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine) in the volume of 1800-2500 characters, briefly outlining the urgency of the article, the research objective, content, directions for further investigation, in three languages as Ukrainian, Russian and English or in the language of the author;
  • annotation (summarizing) serves as an independent source of information and should be informative (without descriptive generalizations); original (without being a duplication of the abstract); substantial (reveal the content of the article and research results); compact but not concise (230-250 words in total); it is submitted by a separate file;
  • keywords (in three languages as Ukrainian, Russian and English).

3. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STRUCTURE OF A SCIENTIFIC ARTICLE PUBLISHED IN THE SPECIALIZED EDITION

Basic structural elements of the article:

UDC (left corner);

The first and LAST NAME, ORCID (right corner);

Scientific degree, rank, position, name of employer, city (right corner, not in bold type);

TITLE OF ARTICLE (centered);

Abstract and keywords in Ukrainian (volume of 1800-2500 characters);

Introduction – target setting in general terms and its relation to important practical tasks (5-15 lines).

Actual scientific researches and issues analysis the author relies on, defining uninvestigated parts of general matters the given article is concerned with (usually this part of the article is about 1/3 page); it could be called as "Initial Preconditions").

Formulating goals of the article (the research objective); this section is critically important, since it determines the usefulness of the proposed article for a reader; the objective of the article comes out of the target setting and the actual researches and issues review, that is the given article aims to eliminate outfield within the general target (the volume of this part of an article is 5-10 lines).

The statement of basic materials (from 5-6 pages of text). A small volume needs to condense down within the research materials; sometimes it is enough to form an objective with a brief mention of the solution method and the statement of the findings; if an article volume does not have rigid restrictions, then it is advisable to describe the methodology of the study in more details.

Conclusions. Directions for further investigation (5-10 sentences - the basic idea of the conducted search, prospects for further scientific intelligences in this direction).

References (references to literature should be made in text in brackets with the number of pages of the printed (electronic) source, for example, [3, p. 277] or [7, p. 87; 9, p. 57]. The literature (sources) is given at the end of the article in alphabetical order in accordance with the applicable standards of bibliographic description and requirements for scientific specialized editions. It is advisable to refer to sources that reveal the significant results of research over the last 5 years (with the exception of the necessary references to archival facts and the work of classics on the issues of the article).

Transliteration of bibliographic data (literature) by Latin (References) is provided at the end of the article. The translated list of used literature is a complete analogue of the list of used sources and is performed on the basis of transliteration of the original Latin language. It is recommended to use an automated translation resource of on-line services:
