Scientific paradigm of the essence of business processes of shipbuilding and shiprepair enterprises
Abstract
The article analyzes the scientific publications of the definition of «business process» in order to identify the key characteristics of this category and to find the existing differences of modern researchers who form a general idea about this concept. Based on the studied scientific works of Ukrainian and foreign authors, a grouping of the considered publications was proposed and it was established that different authors consider the essence of the studied concept in different ways. There are scientific works, the authors of which focus their attention on processes that create added value for the client or focus on a defined goal of the company, which they plan to achieve thanks to the implementation of a process approach to management, other authors consider business processes from the point of view of streamlining work activities with different stages of management, input and output streams, and someone focused on an integrated approach and a set of specific actions aimed at developing a specific product for a specific client or market. In general, the described opinions of the authors led to the conclusion that a unified definition for different fields of activity cannot exist, because each has its own specifics of working with a unique set of control elements of the management system. Based on this, the authors proposed their own vision of the essence of the concept of "business process" for shipbuilding and ship repair enterprises in the light of the prospects for further research, which takes into account the necessary key stages of their operation with the main and auxiliary elements of management on the basis of development standards and constant improvement of existing business models with a flexible engineering strategy and technological trends of the industry. In addition, the article substantiates that business processes for shipbuilding and ship repair enterprises can be similar or radically different, which is proven by presenting the existing general technical and basic business processes of the industry.
