Development of the agricultural sector in the post-war transformation of the economy of Ukraine
Abstract
The article examines the importance and role of the creation and development of agricultural cooperatives in the post-war transformation of the economy of Ukraine. The current state of Ukrainian agriculture, its place in the Ukrainian and world economy is shown. Attention is focused on the achievements and shortcomings inherent in the agrarian sector of the Ukrainian economy. The level of development of agricultural cooperatives in the world, their advantages and the problems they face are studied. It is noted that their advantages include: democratic production and management activities; reduction of costs per unit of production, increase in profit and better protection against economic risks in comparison with individual farms; significant opportunities for optimal access to sales markets; improving the social situation in their region due to a fairer distribution of earned funds and directing part of them to social needs. At the same time, the special property relations that exist in the cooperative sector lead to certain serious problems, which include: disagreements in the collective regarding the principles of distribution of net profit and the difference in income of cooperative members; insufficient financial stability and the ability to quickly accumulate funds necessary for production needs; weak economic training of personnel; low level of use of modern farming technologies. Recommendations have been developed for solving the main problems, many of which are identical to those that exist in companies owned by their workers. Examples of solutions to similar issues in various foreign agricultural cooperatives are given. Emphasis is placed on the need for state support of the cooperative movement in the country through the development of a special comprehensive program for the creation and development of agricultural cooperatives, which can become a driving force for qualitative transformations not only in the agrarian industry, but also in the economy of Ukraine as a whole.
