The concepts of "competition-protection", "level of protection", "factor-criterial model", "qualimetric approach", "research work", "research work", "poster defense", "scientific conference", " factors, factor value ”,“ criteria, criterion value ”,“ expert score ”. The author notes that all concepts are combined in revealing the essence of the factor-criterial model, which is a tool for assessing the results of student research during the III stage of the All-Ukrainian competition for the protection of research work. For an expert score, a reasonable ten-point scale is proposed. For the factors, decomposed stages of the competition are conventionally accepted, namely: correspondence assessment, poster protection, scientific conference. For each factor, the corresponding significance is determined, the sum of which is 100 points. Each factor is concretized by certain criteria, which are determined by a logical analysis of a particular direction of the Competition and represent intermediate complex indicators that can be decomposed further. To highlight the criteria and determine their weighting, pedagogical, scientific and pedagogical workers of educational institutions of various levels of organization and various forms of ownership are involved, as well as scientists of scientific institutions working with gifted students. The weight of the criteria of one factor - the structural direction of the Competition in total amounts to one, which corresponds to the principles of the qualimetric approach. The article provides examples of calculating the value of each of the above factors by considering specific competitive situations. The final assessment of student participation in stage III of the Competition consists of the sum of the values of all three factors. The article presents points for obtaining the first three prizes by the participants of the Competition. The author presents a tabular factor-criterion model that integrates all the above factors, criteria, reveals the formulas for calculating their values and obtaining the resulting score. To automate the calculations, a computer program was created at MAN that automatically allows you to get all the documentation for the last stage of the Competition and determine the winners. In conclusion, the prospect of further research in the creation of qualimetric tools and methods of self-educational activities of members of the IAS of Ukraine are presented.
