Abstract

The article attempts to study and analyze the features of European practices of ensuring the formation and development of schoolchildren's social activity. This was done in order to adapt and implement useful experience in Ukraine, taking into account its European vector of development. The importance of the formation and development of social activity of children and youth, which is regulated in state documents as a significant personal characteristic, is determined. Taking into account the role of the process of social education, the influence of various factors on the formation of social activity of schoolchildren is emphasized.

Based on the study of the achievements of foreign researchers, the most influential factors were established, the role of which can change according to the age phases of life. The most influential factor in primary school age is the parents (family environment) of the child: parents' position on socially useful activities, the level of their participation in social actions, the organization of the child's social education. Friends are an important factor influencing the formation of a schoolboy's social activity in adolescence: the role of friends in motivating children to participate in social actions, agitating for participation in social actions together with friends is emphasized. Another factor influencing the formation and development of social activity in the information age is social networks: attention is focused on the informational, campaigning, and mobilization functions of social networks. The role of the educational institution in which schoolchildren studies is revealed: the usefulness of European experience in organizing work with children from ethnic minority families, immigrants, and families with a low socio-economic level. The role of the community in the formation and development of the social activity of schoolchildren is defined. The indirect impact of positive changes in the characteristics of children and youth on the development of the community is revealed.

A conclusion was made about the value and relevance of the experience of foreign countries, which must be adapted to the conditions, traditions, and existing work of domestic theoreticians and practitioners for the formation and development of the social activity of schoolchildren in Ukraine.
