The results of a longitudinal experiment to test the effectiveness of the system for monitoring the formation of professional competence of future engineers-teachers

Abstract

Abstract. The article presents the results of experimental work to test the effectiveness of the monitoring system for the formation of professional competence of future engineers and teachers. The monitoring was implemented in the form of a set of algorithmic monitoring procedures aimed at obtaining data on individual components of the professional competence of future engineers- pedagogues. During the monitoring, the following were recorded: academic achievements of students at the stages of current, midterm and semester control; the results of the final certification; results of students' questioning; assessment of future engineers- pedagogues according to the selected psychodiagnostic methods and the author's methods of assessing the indicators of their professional competence. The obtained monitoring results were verified using the methods of mathematical statistics, the effectiveness of monitoring as a tool for managing the formation of the professional competence of future engineers- pedagogues was confirmed. To diagnose the level of formation of the professional competence of future engineers-teachers on the basis of the obtained numerical data for certain indicators, a qualimetric approach was used, which provides an appropriate quantitative assessment based on the creation of a factor-criterion model. The results of an experiment on individual components of the professional competence of future engineers-teachers for the entire observation period are analyzed. The results of the experiment showed that the use of monitoring the professional competence of future engineers- pedagogues makes it possible to track the dynamics of changes in the level of formation of the corresponding competence, both in general and by individual components, as well as to identify problem areas that require urgent management impact. The measurement results showed a positive impact of the introduction of monitoring the professional competence of future engineers- pedagogues, which is confirmed by the positive dynamics of the results obtained. However, this positive dynamic is constrained by negative trends in the field of vocational education, due to insufficient government support and the absence of a targeted state policy in the development of vocational education in the country.
