Managerial Activity Of The Head Of The School On The Introduction Of STEM-Education As A Factor The Development Of An Effective Educational Environment


Abstract

The article substantiates the need for introducing in general educational institutions STEM-education as a civilizational and national trend in the development of general secondary education in the first half of the XXI century. Carried out the analysis of three groups of major factors determining the educational policy of the developed countries of the world at the present stage of civilizational development, namely: the need to overcome the civilizational (global) crisis; the emergence in national economies of innovative technologies of the sixth technological order; the processes of globalization of all aspects of human existence. Based on the analysis of scientific research and publications, in which the solution of this problem has begun, it has been established that STEM-education is understood as an important and promising area of innovative education, which is designed to ensure the fundamentalization of education, its leading and interdisciplinary character, the development of highly organized thinking and STEM-competences.

The structure, goals, objectives of STEM education were examined, which allowed substantiating and uncovering organizational and managerial aspects of creating and developing an effective STEM educational environment in general secondary education institutions by developing a clear strategy for implementing STEM-education and developing a STEM environment using all resources; fundamentally new goal-setting in the educational process; updating the structure and content of subjects; definitions and assessments of learning outcomes through key and subject competences of students; introduction of innovative, gaming learning technologies; modernization of the content of methodical work; development of the material and technical base of the institution to facilitate the implementation by students implementation of project and  research activities, modeling of various processes and phenomena.

The features of the introduction of STEM-education in general secondary education institutions were characterized in accordance with the concept of the New Ukrainian School and the Law of Ukraine “On Education”; determines the ways to implement this innovative educational system in an educational institution.
